Colchani Bolivia

Colchani is a locality of the Municipality of Uyuni in the province of Antonio Quijarro, in the Department of Potosí, Bolivia. It is located 20 km from the city of Uyuni on the road that connects this town with Oruro, at an altitude of 3,674 meters above sea level. The town of Colchani is geographically located within the following limits: To the north with the community of Pampa Grande To the east with the community of Chacala, municipality of Uyuni. To the south with the city of Uyuni. To the west the Salar de Uyuni. Colchani is the door to the Uyuni salt flat. It has a salt museum visited by many tourists. In the town there are 2 very basic lodgings with a lack of sanitary services. There are also several hotels on the shores of the Salar de Uyuni that do have all the sanitary services, which are owned by private individuals.
