Durango Spain

Durango is situated in a beautiful valley surrounded by green mountains, not far from the Natural Park of Urkiola, and the crest of Anboto mountain, in an incomparable natural setting, just full of possibilities for nature-lovers. Durango is in the Province of Bizkaia in the Basque Country. It is only half an hour away from the beach and it is the geographical centre of Euskadi: the Basque Country. It is the ideal place to discover the verdure of the mountains, the blue sea and the principal cities of the Basque Country: Bilbao, Donostia-San Sebastián and Vitoria-Gasteiz. Durango has a population of 29,000, and is the hub of the administrative region of Durangaldea, one of the most picturesque areas of Euskadi, with a great variety of landscapes that invites us to get in touch with Nature, as well as discover new sensations. In Durango you will come in contact with an age-old language, Euskera, of obscure origin, which goes back to the remotest times.
