Day 1: Mexico City International Airport (MEX)
Join us for a horseback trekking adventure in the heart of Mexico…. The “El Ajusco” National Park is a green lung that oxygenates all of Mexico City. Located just south of the city, its 920 hectares are rich with pines, oaks, and other tree species. Perfect for those who want to experience nature immersion…its landscapes are overwhelming and the immensity of Pico El Aguila with its 3900 meters reconnects us with nature. Rich in underground water springs that surface, unique biodiversity, and a lot of native fauna: white-tailed deer, skunks, shrews, wild cats, weasels, bats, swallows, bluebirds, and other endemic animals. We offer a six-day trekking ride, suitable for riders with at least an intermediate level, during which we will take you to some of the most incredible volcanoes, discover small villages, and see breathtaking views. Narrow paths and steep hills, interspersed with open spaces to enjoy breathtaking gallops. We will touch the following points of interest:
- El Arenal volcano
-Cerro Pelado volcano
- Xitle volcano
- Los Dinamos National Park
ITALY/MEXICO CITY/AJUCO (-/-/D)
Arrival at Mexico City International Airport (MEX) and transfer to the ranch. If the weather permits, in the afternoon you can get familiar with your horse. Dinner and overnight at the ranch.
Day 2: Mexico City
AJUCO (B/L/D)
After breakfast, everyone will mount their horses (about 4-5 hours) to explore the surroundings of the ranch, from where you can see the small town of Ajuco. Return for lunch, and in the afternoon, take a trip to the interior of the El Arenal volcano. From the summit, we will have a view of the gigantic Mexico City. Dinner and overnight at the ranch.
Day 3: Mexico City
AJUCO (B/L/D)
The beauty of the San Nicolas Totolapan Ejidal Park lies in its diversity. With approximately 2,300 hectares of extension, it is a paradise for an impressive variety of flora and fauna. Pine forests, oyamel firs, and mosses provide shade and coolness even on the hottest days. About two hours on horseback from "Las Llantas," where the horses will be waiting for us at 10:00 am. We will ride to the Virgin of the Mountain, a religious image carved into the face of a giant rock. From spectacular viewpoints along the way, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Ajusco-Chichinautzin mountain range. If you're a foodie, don’t miss the cooking class from our chef when you return to the ranch, where you’ll learn to cook some traditional Mexican dishes that you can replicate at home. After lunch, get ready to raise some dust in the Polaris RZR four-seat side-by-side as you cross the mountainous terrain. Immerse yourself in the stunning views of the varied vegetation and mountain peaks. Dinner and overnight at the ranch.
Day 4: Mexico City
AJUCO (B/L/D)
Today we will venture further, riding for 5 hours to the hidden village of Capulin, where you can taste the traditional drink, "conejo." This village of 300 souls is isolated, over 2 hours by car from the nearest town, and with a bit of luck, we might spot some wild horses. Dinner and overnight at the ranch.
Day 5: Mexico City
AJUCO (B/L/D)
After a delicious breakfast, 5 hours on horseback. We will take you to Cerro Pelado, a volcano that you can see on the horizon from the Ranch. From the highest point of this inactive volcano, you can see all of Ajusco and the surrounding wilderness. This is where forest guards monitor the nature in case of forest fires. We will return to the Ranch just in time for lunch. In the evening, we can take you to the center of Ajusco for some shopping and sightseeing, or you can ride again in the surrounding area before dinner. Dinner and overnight at the ranch.
Day 6: Mexico City
