Day 1: Arrive At New Delhi

Day 2: Delhi – Shekhawati (250kms/ 5h)

After breakfast, drive to Shekhawati, a region of Rajasthan nicknamed “the open-air art gallery of Rajasthan.” It is in these villages, surrounded by sand dunes, that one finds havelis—homes of wealthy merchants who once thrived on camel trade between India and Pakistan. These are small palaces with walls adorned with painted frescoes, true illuminated masterpieces. Check-in at the hotel. In the late afternoon, visit the village. A gentle tranquility now envelops the village of Shekhawati, which seems almost asleep after the departure of these wealthy families, who left behind many havelis that today are nearly abandoned. You may be awakened by the cries of the many peacocks that inhabit the village. The peacock is the national bird of India. Overnight at the hotel. (Meals: Breakfast included)

Day 3: Shekhawati – Bikaner (224 Kms/ 4h)

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure by road to Bikaner. Surrounded by the desert, Bikaner is still steeped in its heroic past, with a maze of medieval alleyways and a lively bazaar. Upon arrival in the city, visit the magnificent palace of the Maharajas of Bikaner, located within the impressive Junagarh Fort, which houses a fine collection of weapons. Then, enjoy a tuk-tuk ride to explore the local bazaar, including the Jain temple and traditional havelis. Check-in at your hotel. Overnight at the hotel. (Meals: Breakfast included)

Day 4: Bikaner – Jaisalmer (335 Kms/ 5–6h)

After breakfast, depart for Jaisalmer, a city located in the Thar Desert in India. It is known for its spectacular fortress and stunning sand dunes. En route, stop at the village of Khichan – you will have the chance to see the Demoiselle Crane (Kurja), which migrates to Rajasthan in large flocks at the end of September to breed. (The best time to visit the Kurja is from October to mid-March). Continue to Jaisalmer. Check-in at the hotel. In the late afternoon, visit Vyas Chhatri, an unforgettable experience. While admiring the magnificent sculptures and elegant architecture, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city, especially at sunset when the monument glows with warm, golden colors. Overnight at the hotel (Meals: Breakfast included)

Day 5: Jaisalmer – Thar Desert – Jaisalmer

After breakfast, depart for a visit to Jaisalmer – a magnificent caravan city founded in 1155 by Rao Jaisal. Visit Gadi Sagar and the Folk Art Museum. Then explore the Fort and admire the “havelis” with finely carved facades and balconies decorated with intricate stone lacework. Jaisalmer has been described as an open-air museum, and wandering through its narrow alleys is like stepping back in time. Next, take an excursion to the Sam Dunes, located 40 km from the city—vast sand dunes. In the evening, enjoy a camel ride at sunset. Return to Jaisalmer. Dinner with a view of the royal palace of Jaisalmer at a local restaurant adjacent to the royal residence. Overnight at the hotel. (Meals: Breakfast and Dinner included)

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Jodhpur. Arrival in Jodhpur and visit to the “Blue City.” Jodhpur is dominated by Mehrangarh Fort, the “Fort of Majesty,” featuring the harem, the sumptuous reception hall, the cradle room, the curious small mirror palace, and the royal palanquin room housing the intricately carved silver “howdah.” You will also visit Jaswant Thada, a magnificent white marble mausoleum built in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh. It is known as the “Little Taj Mahal of Rajasthan.” In the late afternoon, stroll through the bazaar around the Clock Tower. Here artisans and merchants of all kinds operate. The market stalls overflow with sari fabrics, spices, grains, fruits, and vegetables. Check-in at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel. (Meals: Breakfast included)

Day 7: Jodhpur – Ranakpur – Udaipur (250 Kms/5h)

After breakfast, depart for Udaipur. En route, visit the Jain temple of Ranakpur, located in a valley of the Aravalli mountain range. It is one of the most remarkable Jain temple complexes in India. Everywhere you will see delicate white marble stonework. The carvings are so finely detailed that it is more like the work of a jeweler than a stonecutter. Continue the journey to Udaipur, the White City and the most romantic city in Rajasthan. Here, there is no mighty citadel, but rather the tranquility of a garden city reflected in the waters of the lakes, with the Aravalli range as a backdrop. Overnight at the hotel. (Meals: Breakfast included)

Day 8: Udaipur

Breakfast at the hotel. Discover the city of Udaipur, the White City. In the morning, visit the city: the palace overlooking the lake, the City Palace, which stretches 500 meters and is a vast labyrinth of rooms, halls, courtyards, gardens, and terraces. It was built during the reign of Udai Singh in the 16th century. Today, part of it has been transformed into a museum, another part into a hotel (the Shiv Niwas), and the rest is still inhabited by the Maharana’s descendants. From the palace, you will enjoy a splendid view of Lake Pichola and its two islands, including the famous Lake Palace built on one of them. Take a boat ride on Lake Pichola, a man-made freshwater lake created in 1362, named after the nearby village of Picholi. It is one of many contiguous lakes that have developed over the centuries in and around the famous city of Udaipur. Then visit Saheliyon ki Bari, meaning "Garden of the Maidens," built by Maharana Sangram Singh in the 18th century for the royal ladies. In the afternoon (if time allows), visit a miniature painting house: The art of miniature painting is an ancient technique that originated in North India. It was the art of kings, used by rulers of the time to record their exploits. The most prolific center of this art is in Udaipur, Rajasthan. Overnight at the hotel. (Meals: Breakfast included)

Day 9: Udaipur – Pushkar (300 Kms /5–6h)

Then visit the only temple in India dedicated to Brahma, one of the very few temples dedicated to Brahma in the country. It is a place of great spiritual significance for Hindus. Take a walk around the beautiful Pushkar Lake. It is a sacred site for pilgrims, and you can observe devotees performing their bathing and prayer rituals. Head to the lively Pushkar market where you can shop and discover local crafts. Overnight at the hotel. (Meals: Breakfast included)

Day 10: Pushkar – Jaipur (146 Kms/2–3h)

(Meals: Breakfast and Dinner included)

Day 11: Jaipur – Fort Amber – Jaipur

Seeing the defensive forts surrounding the area, one can imagine the power of its rulers. You will ascend and descend the ramparts by jeep (if your group has more than 4 participants). Visit the palace with its rooms adorned with mirrors and the old harem, a true labyrinth. Today, you will visit the textile block printing workshops where you can have your clothes made during the day. The art of block printing: woodblock printing is a manual printing technique, an ancestral craft from Rajasthan, in northern India. In the afternoon, take a rickshaw ride through the old city of Jaipur. In the evening, transfer to a cinema to watch a Bollywood film in one of India’s most famous theatres.
