Jour 1: Kathmandù

An adventure through the Mustang region in Nepal, a hidden gem known for its dramatic landscapes and rich cultural heritage. Nepal, renowned for its stunning UNESCO Himalayan peaks and diverse geography, offers exceptional opportunities for horseback exploration, especially in the remote Mustang region.
Mustang, often referred to as "The Last Forbidden Kingdom," is a unique destination characterized by its rugged terrain, ancient Tibetan culture, and extraordinary natural beauty. The high-altitude desert landscape, dotted with ancient monasteries and traditional villages, provides an ideal setting for horseback adventures, bringing you up close to the region's breathtaking scenery, from deep canyons and eroded cliffs to lush valleys and vast plateaus.
The journey will take you through enchanting villages like Kagbeni and Chuksang, sacred sites like Muktinath, and the impressive Thorong La Pass, offering spectacular mountain views and a timeless sense of adventure.
Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu (KTM), at an altitude of 1,400 meters. Meet with our local representatives and transfer to your hotel in the city, immersed in its vibrant atmosphere.


Jour 2: Kathmandù

KATHMANDU (B/-/-)
After breakfast, optional 1-hour scenic flight over Everest (USD 255 per person – payable on site) to admire the spectacular Himalayan views, including Mount Everest.
Then, visit the Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple, located atop a hill. Experience the spiritual atmosphere surrounded by prayer flags and the resonating sounds of bells.
Next, explore the Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest in Nepal, where you can observe pilgrims spinning prayer wheels.
End your day with the Aarti ceremony at Pashupatinath Temple, a fascinating ritual along the sacred Bagmati River.


Jour 3: Pokhara

KATHMANDU/POKHARA (B/-/-)
After breakfast, 30-minute scenic flight to Pokhara, the tourist capital of Nepal.
Enjoy a peaceful boat ride on Phewa Lake. After the boat trip, have lunch at one of the fine restaurants in the Lakeside area.
In the afternoon, head to the World Peace Pagoda, located on a hilltop, for panoramic views of the Pokhara Valley and Annapurna range.
Spend the evening exploring the Lakeside area, shopping for souvenirs or enjoying a lake-view dinner.


Jour 4:

POKHARA / JOMSOM / KAGBENI (B/L/D)
Today's adventure begins with an exciting 20-minute morning flight to Jomsom, the gateway to the Mustang region.
Our experienced horse-riding guide will welcome you upon arrival.
Begin your horseback journey through scenic landscapes from Jomsom to Kagbeni.
As you ride through the rugged terrain, you’ll be captivated by stunning views of the Kali Gandaki River and surrounding mountains.
Arrive in Kagbeni, a charming village marking the entrance to Upper Mustang at 2,700 meters. Enjoy a delicious lunch and explore the ancient architecture and unique culture of the village.
Overnight stay in Kagbeni, immersing yourself in the serene atmosphere and preparing for the next stage of your journey.


Jour 5:

KAGBENI / CHUKSANG (B/L/D)
Continue your horseback journey from Kagbeni to Chuksang.
The ride will take about 3–4 hours, offering a mix of breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural encounters.
Along the trail, pass through unique landscapes characterized by eroded cliffs and scattered caves, typical of the Mustang region.
Arrive in Chuksang, a picturesque village nestled among towering rock formations and lush greenery, and settle in for the night.
Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and discover the village’s traditional lifestyle and warm hospitality, making this stop a memorable experience at 3,000 meters altitude.


Jour 6:

CHUKSANG / MUKTINATH (B/L/D)
A day on horseback of approximately 6–7 hours from Chuksang to the sacred site of Muktinath.
A full day of adventure through varied and fascinating landscapes.
As we ascend to 3,700 meters, you'll see the transition from arid terrain to greener environments, with breathtaking views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.
During the journey, enjoy a packed lunch immersed in the serenity of the surrounding nature.
Overnight in Muktinath.


Jour 7:

MUKTINATH (B/L/D)
Ride from Muktinath to the famous Thorong La Pass, reaching a maximum altitude of 5,416 meters (17,769 feet).
The path to Thorong La Pass is a challenging and thrilling adventure, offering some of the most spectacular mountain views in the world.
As you ascend on horseback, you'll be surrounded by the majestic Himalayan peaks, making this a highlight of your Mustang experience.
Thorong La is one of the highest passable mountain passes in the world, and crossing it on horseback is a testament to the breathtaking beauty and rugged terrain of the region.
After enjoying the extraordinary views and taking unforgettable photos, return to Muktinath for the night.


Jour 8:

MUKTINATH / LUBRA (B/L/D)
A scenic horseback journey from Muktinath to the peaceful village of Lubra.
This route takes you through diverse landscapes, from the sacred grounds of Muktinath to the lesser-known but equally fascinating Lubra village.
As you ride, you’ll be surrounded by stunning views of the mountains and valleys, offering countless opportunities to immerse yourself in Mustang's natural beauty.
Upon arrival in Lubra, you’ll find a serene village known for its traditional Tibetan Buddhist culture and unique Bon monasteries.
Free time to explore the village, interact with locals, and discover their rich cultural heritage.
Enjoy the tranquil atmosphere and spend the night in Lubra village, savoring the serenity and charm of this hidden gem.


Jour 9:

LUBRA / JOMSOM (B/L/D)
Ride from Lubra to Jomsom, passing through the picturesque village of Marpha along the way.
This 7–8 hour journey takes you through a variety of landscapes, showcasing the diverse beauty of the Mustang region.
While riding, you’ll encounter the beautiful village of Marpha, famous for its whitewashed houses, narrow cobbled streets, and lush apple orchards.
Take a moment to explore Marpha, perhaps tasting some of its apple-based products, before continuing the journey.
The final stretch brings you back to Jomsom.


Jour 10: Kathmandù

JOMSOM / KATHMANDU (B/-/-)
We leave the fascinating Mustang region with a morning flight from Jomsom to Pokhara, then continue to Kathmandu.
As you fly over spectacular landscapes, enjoy final glimpses of the majestic Himalayan peaks and wild beauty of the Mustang region.
Upon arrival in Kathmandu, free time to relax.
Special farewell dinner and overnight stay.

PACE: 4 to 7 H RIDING (about 20 km per day). The main pace is walking due to the mountainous terrain and elevation changes. Good physical condition is required due to altitudes over 3,000 m.
WHAT TO BRING: layered riding clothing, considering high mountain temperatures depending on the season. Also bring waterproof and windproof gear. Sunscreen, protective helmet, water bottle, first aid medications.
