Jour 1: Brebbia

CASSINA PIATTA/BREBBIA (-/L/D)
A unique proposal along the Lombard bridleways, three days dedicated to the exploration of woods, river and lake areas between Lake Varese and Lake Maggiore. An area offering enchanting landscapes to explore on horseback. The panoramic trails offer breathtaking views of the lake and the Prealps, through chestnut woods and gentle hills. The pedestrian and cycle path surrounding Lake Varese, about 28 km long, can partly be travelled on horseback, allowing you to admire the Palude Brabbia Nature Reserve, rich in fauna and flora. And then the Sacro Monte of Varese, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with an incredible view. Along the way, you’ll encounter historic farmhouses and local farms where you can taste typical products. Horse trekking here is a unique experience, blending nature, history, and authentic flavours!

Meeting at 8:00 a.m. at Cassina Piatta – Loc. Mesenzana, Via San Martino at the equestrian center. Horse assignment and departure for this first day of trekking, lasting about 8 hours. Picnic lunch along the route and in the afternoon arrival at the riding center/farmhouse Il Pivione in Brebbia and transfer to Hotel Ungheria in Varese for overnight stay. Dinner in a restaurant at Sacro Monte or in the historic center.

Jour 2: Bodio Lomnago

BREBBIA /BODIO LOMNAGO (B/L/D)
Early morning transfer from the hotel and departure on horseback at 8:00 a.m. from Pivione for another full day in the saddle (approx. 8 h). Picnic lunch along the way and in the afternoon arrival at the Sceree equestrian center, located in the woods near Lake Varese. Dinner and overnight stay at the adjacent Equirelais del Lago.

Jour 3:

BODIO LOMNAGO/CASSINA PIATTA (B/L/-)
Last day in the saddle, about 5 h. Departure from the Sceree equestrian center at 9:00 a.m. Arrival on the Sumirago hill with a view of Lake Varese and at the Badi Farm riding center. Lunch in the clubhouse and transfer back to the starting point of the trek.

EQUIPMENT: English or Western saddles
HORSES: mixed-breed horses suitable for the proposed routes
PACE: FROM 5 TO 8 H PER DAY IN THE SADDLE. Riders must be used to riding outdoors and able to control the horse in open spaces at all three gaits, as well as be in good physical condition due to the long days in the saddle.
WHAT TO BRING: riding clothing, including waterproof gear. Protective helmet.
MINIMUM AGE: 18 years (14 years if accompanied by an adult)
MAXIMUM WEIGHT: 90 kg
TYPE: itinerant trekking with hotel overnights
