Escape to Athens, 3 Days

Day 1: Arrival Athens (40km – 1hr)

Arrive at Athens International Airport where you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check-in. The afternoon is free at leisure for exploring this never-sleeping city. You may optionally visit Syntagma Square and get into the city’s vibe. Enjoy shopping in one of the most popular streets of the city in the Kolonaki area of Ermou, and have a nice, quiet walk at the beautiful alleys of Plaka (the old district) where you can also find a big number of small shops selling souvenirs and other local artefacts. Overnight in Athens.

Day 2: Athens

Indulge in a delicious breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy the day exploring the Capital of Greece. Alternatively, you can choose to go on one of the following Optional Tours (not included): Half-day Athens City Tour with Acropolis & the NEW Acropolis Museum (English, Daily departures from 1 April - 31 October, from 1 November - 31 March except Wednesdays and Saturdays, Shared): Our expert guide will take you to see the Panathenaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games of modern times were held in 1896 (short stop). Continue and pass by the Prime Minister's residence (ex Royal Palace) guarded by the Euzones in their colorful uniform, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Hadrian's Arch, the Parliament and the memorial to the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the University, the National Library, the Constitution Square (Syntagma). On the Acropolis visit the Architectural Masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: The Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and finally "the harmony between material and spirit", the monument that "puts order in the mind", the Parthenon. Continue and visit the place where at last the statues found their home and admire the wonders of the classical era: The new Acropolis museum.The Classic Food Tasting Tour of Athens (English, Daily departures, except Sundays, from 1 April - 31 October, Shared): starts at 10:00 am, to find out a variety of local gems around the city such as koulouri, bougatsa, Greek meze, a variety of cheese and cured meats, different types of oils, souvlaki, and more. (Includes: English-speaking tour leader on a shared basis, all tastings offered during the food tour. Does not include: transfers from/to the hotel, detailed meeting instructions will be sent to you upon booking) Overnight in Athens.

Day 3: Departure Athens (40km – 1hr)

After one last breakfast at your hotel, bid farewell to Athens as you hop onto a comfortable transfer to Athens Airport or Port, where you will catch your flight to your following destination. We hope the memories of this trip will stay with you for a lifetime – have a safe journey.
